I used to have fun hypermiling. I did it in the far right lane, however.

Hasn’t taped up their panel gaps so they are clearly not trying.

Dude. It was lowered. Panel gaps on the front were taped.

Man, I don’t even care. I’d rock a hypermiling insight.

Props, then...but I also see an exposed door handle!

Serious hypermiling has some cool tips and has taught me little things I can do in everyday driving. I’m just sad more people don’t follow it en masse. But the extremists are definitely extreme (eg the custom fiberglass boattails).

Whoa I didn't realize you actually have done it. You should hypermile my car, I would be amazed if you could get 28 mpg

I wonder if he has the Ford Escape Hybrid battery pack conversion. It apparently doubles your electric reserves.

Nothing serious, really just an awareness of when to coast, when to stay in gear, keeping up momentum.

In most cars, unless you drive like a total douche, you might get a couple extra mpg. It’s more about an awareness of physics and traffic flow. And it’s stressful. So I limit it to the simple stuff like speeding up downhill on the highway, then slowing as I approach the next hill.

Right? But I’d probably lose/spend whatever gas saving trying to see if it increased my top speed.

I love the excuse to carry more speed through turns, keep up momentum, racing lines are the most efficient

Tried to do that to keep my MPG above 15 — but then stepping on the gas would immediately bring it back down to 14.8. So I gave up and just step on the gas all the time now!

I particularly like the embarrassment reducing window tint.

I sped up going downhill on the highway one time, and then was pulled over. Guess I sped up too much. YMMV
